I didn't report the bullying, as that would only make Brick more likely to torment me in the future. His parents were extremely rich and well connected, and they had immense influence among the school faculty. Any complaints about Brick were quickly dismissed, and even when he was openly caught abusing fellow students he only ever got a light slap on the wrist. I knew that it was best to just try and avoid him the best I could.
Thankfully I didn't run into him the rest of the day, and my good mood eventually returned. Even Brick's bullying couldn't put a complete damper on my excitement. The promise of new delights that Ms Skye would bring was just too great.
I kept up my excitement all the way through to the next day, and when I entered the classroom for Adv Bio I was wearing a bright smile. I was the first one there, and I saw that the beds from the previous lesson had been removed. The couches and loveseats that we usually sat in were back in their places, and a screen had been drawn down over the whiteboard. It seemed to me like we would be watching some sort of video for the day's lesson.
